We were delighted to create a packed schedule of positive Christmas memories for the children during the festive season this year.
Thanks to the kind donations we have received from our amazing supporters, we were able to provide gifts for the 50+ Dnipro Kids that are currently displaced in the UK. We also took them to a group dinner and to participate in events such as ice skating at Murrayfield Ice Rink and the Polar Express Experience at Waverley Station, complete with hot chocolate, cookies and Santa Claus all part of the evening!
On Christmas Day, we were delighted to be welcomed by Hibernian FC and the Hibernian Community Foundation to take part in their Community Meals initiative, where they provide food for those who cannot provide for themselves. Well done, Hibs!
The children had a wonderful time, marking their 3rd Xmas in Edinburgh. And its not over yet, with the theatre planned next week too!
Maksym (12 year old) said “It was really good fun, I loved it. My favourite part was speaking with Santa, but the singing was good too.”
Yuliia (15 ears old) had a great time too. She said “It was lovely being on a special train that was so Christmassy, and the hot chocolate and cookies were very tasty.”
House Mother Lena spoke for the mums, adding “It was a great idea for Christmas Day out, something we’ve not done before and all of the kids loved it. And so did we.”
Thank you to everyone who made it possible, the people who have donated their to help us, the venues who kindly provided special deals and support for our group and to our team for organising such a special festive period.
Wishing everyone a wonderful New Year!
