Supporting Ukrainian Orphanage families

Join us in making a real difference to the lives of kids from Ukrainian orphanage families, in particular during this time of war.
Dnipro Kids has cared for these groups for almost 20 years, and we are continuing our work both with evacuated kids we helped bring to safety in Scotland, and with those who remain in the Ukraine.

Your donations allow us to give them a better life now, and a brighter future. Thank You!

empowering

We’re all about helping people to help themselves.

We are a charity dedicated to improving the lives of orphanage children from Ukraine, and supporting Ukrainian children here in Scotland as they shelter from the devastation of war.

our mission

Our Mission is to provide our cared-for Kids with the love, help and practical support needed to be safe, to learn, be healthy and flourish.

our impact

Our Impact has already seen a group of close to 60 brought to Scotland, including an original group of around 50 who were the first refugees to arrive in Scotland after being evacuated by our charity in an operation that grabbed headlines around the world.

Supporting Our Kids Through Following:

Through Partnership:

Dnipro Kids is grateful for our amazing partners, the City of Edinburgh Council, Perth and Kinross Council, Edinburgh College, and the ongoing assistance from both the Scottish and UK Governments which has been provided. Our group is the only group of cared-for youngsters from Ukraine in the UK.

through education:

Working with our partners, we have enrolled all of our children in school and provided all of them with uniforms and equipment. Through the generous support of law firm Addleshaw Goddard we were able to provide a charity minibus to help ferry them back and forward to school each day. Some of our older children have now graduated to college, with some studying for university courses!

to good health:

All of our children and adults are now registered with GPS and dentists and have had regular eye checks, attending close to 150 medical appointments, and we continue to provide this support. Our thanks to all who have helped!

to well-being:

Our kids may have endured more traumatic events than many others, but they’re kids and they still like to have fun. We’ve created a mini-swing park for them, taken them to many outings and treat days out, and holidays to both London and York. Every one of our kids gets a birthday gift, and we celebrate Christmas not once, but twice – UK and Ukrainian style.

to integrate:

While our group initially all lived together, thanks to Edinburgh College, we now have four of our six family groups living in their own homes – two in Edinburgh and two in Perth. However, we still need to find homes for two of our large family groups, and it’s an expensive business only made possible by the continued love and support you show.
We’ve also sponsored a number of projects, both in and out of school, to help our youngsters and the local community understand one another better, and this is important work we want to keep up, so please, if you can, donate and help.
